Brin Quillpot
Wizard
Brin Quillpot
Species
Rock Gnome
Appearance
A compact young gnome standing just over three feet tall, with a broad, sun-brown face and a prodigious rounded nose that seems to arrive a moment before the rest of her. Her bright hazel eyes shine with such concentrated excitement that strangers often feel examined, admired, and mildly disassembled at once. Her fair hair sticks out in every direction in stiff, springy tufts, each one usually carrying a fleck of brass dust, flour, or blue thread. She moves with quick, purposeful starts, then stops so abruptly that her coat continues swaying after she has gone still. Her smile is enormous and sincere, but her hands are almost always cold and ink-stained. She smells faintly of cedar shavings, sugared ginger, and overheated metal, despite taking great pride in her personal cleanliness. The unexpected contradiction is her silence when confronted with genuine grief. In those moments, the restless little craftswoman becomes perfectly still, watching with the solemn patience of a stone.
“Her voice is quick, bright, and slightly breathless, with a faint rasp from years of inhaling sawdust. She often pauses to listen to a nearby mechanism before finishing a sentence.”

Distinguishing Features
Her oversized nose has a tiny brass ring near the left nostril, used as a holder for a folded scrap of paper.
Her hair constantly sheds fine golden strands that cling to wool and velvet.
Her smile is broad enough to reveal one slightly pointed lower tooth.
Her fingertips are permanently marked with blue-black ink and traces of copper polish.
Before speaking, she gives a soft click in her throat, as though setting a small internal mechanism into place.
Voice
“Bright, breathy, and eager, with a faint rasp and a habit of making a soft throat-click before important statements.”
Clothing
She wears a modest umber coat over a moss-green waistcoat, both heavily decorated with tiny embroidered diagrams of gears, beetles, river waves, and cooking utensils. Copper thread outlines the seams, while several dull amber beads gleam at her cuffs. Her boots are practical, patched, and slightly too large, each fitted with a hidden compartment for chalk or wire.
Body Language
She leans forward as if pulled by curiosity, keeps her thumbs hooked through her belt, and frequently rises onto her toes when making an important point. When lying, she becomes unnaturally motionless and folds her hands over her stomach.
