Corin Mossglass
Ranger, Scout 7 / Fighter 1
Corin Mossglass
Species
Forest Gnome
Appearance
Corin is a wiry forest gnome built like a drawn bowstring, all narrow shoulders, corded forearms, and restless balance. His sharp green eyes constantly measure distances, exits, wind direction, and the weight of nearby branches. His muddy moss-brown hair is streaked with iron-grey and cut unevenly around a weather-beaten face crosshatched by faint old brush scratches. He moves with a quick, skittering grace, rarely placing a foot where a root, stone, or patch of dry leaf can betray him. His clothing smells of pine pitch, wet leather, and bitter tea. The unexpected contradiction is his smile, which is broad, warm, and almost grandmotherly, appearing most often while he is doing something wildly dangerous.
“Quick, dry, and observant, with a habit of lowering his voice when saying something important. Corin speaks in short tactical phrases during danger, elaborate metaphors when discussing roads, and teasing understatement when frightened.”

Distinguishing Features
Green eyes with amber flecks that seem to brighten near active acoustic nodes.
A badge with a crossed-out watchtower scratched into its back.
Faint brush scars across his cheeks and nose.
A brass compass permanently fused shut at north, which he keeps as a warning.
A missing tip on his left ear, hidden beneath his grey-streaked hair.
Voice
“A rasping tenor with a warm undertone, like dry leaves dragged across brass. He can project a command across a road without sounding angry, then whisper a joke that carries no farther than the person beside him.”
Clothing
A heavily patched road-warden tunic lies over reinforced brown leather armor. Dangling brass compasses, scratched map-tubes, signal whistles, and resonance markers hang from his belt and shoulder straps. His Mossglass District badge is conspicuously unpolished, and its back has been quietly defaced with a tiny crossed-out tower.
Body Language
Corin leans forward as though perpetually listening to a distant signal. His hands are rarely still, adjusting a compass, testing a bowstring, or tracing routes on his glove. When angry, he becomes unnaturally motionless. When frightened, he smiles and starts organizing other people's equipment.
