Appearance
Tavish is a broad-built satyr with the deep, weathered complexion of someone who has spent decades beneath salt glare and hard coastal wind. His thick gray-brown hair grows in unruly waves around two heavy, dark horns that curl backward like hooked surf. A full beard, coarse as dried sea grass, spreads across his chest and carries broad streaks of silver. His legs are powerful and furred from the knee down, with dark cloven hooves polished smooth by years of rock paths and village floors. He stands with his weight settled slightly forward, as if listening for a change in the ground, and when he waits he rests one hand on his staff while the other rubs the nearest knot in its grain. His hands are callused, sun-browned, and marked by pale salt cracks. Unexpectedly, his large frame moves with quiet delicacy, especially around children, injured animals, and sleeping guests. He leaves the impression of a weather-beaten cedar tree that has learned to laugh.
“Tavish speaks in a low, resonant voice with a coastal cadence, stretching vowels when telling stories and clipping words short when danger is near. He uses old Asteri expressions, domestic metaphors, and names whenever possible.”

Distinguishing Features
His heavy horns are polished at the tips by years of habitual touching and oiling.
A narrow strip of white fur runs from his left knee to the upper ankle, an uncommon birthmark among the Asteri satyrs.
He wears a bronze household ring on a cord around his wrist, adding a new bead whenever a family joins the rout.
His beard is braided into three uneven sections, each representing a generation of the Asteri Rout.
He smells faintly of rosemary smoke, wet leather, and sea salt.
Voice
“A deep, weathered baritone with a warm rasp, like stones shifting under surf. When angered, he speaks softly enough that everyone nearby must lean in, making each word feel deliberate.”
Clothing
Practical undyed linen trousers are tucked above his furred legs, beneath a sleeveless leather vest softened by years of rain and use. Several woven sashes carry family colors from across the Asteri Rout. A weatherproof blue-green cloak hangs from a bronze clasp shaped like a spiral shell. His jewelry is restrained, consisting of a bronze nose ring, three small ear hoops, and a cord of polished driftwood beads engraved with household marks.
Body Language
Tavish keeps his shoulders open and his chin slightly lowered, offering attention rather than dominance. In conversation he leans close enough to hear a whisper, but when danger appears he straightens to his full height and angles one horn toward the threat. He touches people sparingly, usually at the shoulder or wrist, yet he always takes the hand of someone delivering bad news.
