Appearance
A rangy human man with a long-backed, loose-limbed posture and the wary stillness of someone who expects the ground to move beneath him. He walks with his left foot turned slightly outward, not from injury, but from years of crossing submerged roots and mud shelves. His skin is sun-browned across the forehead and hands, while the rest of him carries a faint gray-green cast from constant exposure to marsh water and peat smoke. His dark hair hangs in damp, uneven ropes that curl at the ends no matter how often he cuts it. His beard is sparse except along the jaw, where it grows in a soft copper-brown fringe. He smells of crushed mint, wet leather, and old campfire. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: broad, callused, and visibly made for drawing a bow, yet he handles fragile insects, eggshells, and fine glass with almost absurd delicacy. Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he occupies less space than his height should allow, leaning toward walls, doorframes, or trees as if apologizing to the room for being in it.
“His voice is low, dry, and slightly rough, with a habit of dropping the final word of a sentence into near silence. He speaks quickly when describing terrain and very slowly when discussing the drowned chapel.”

Distinguishing Features
He walks with his left foot turned outward and favors the outer edges of both boots.
A tiny brass fishhook is braided into the hair behind his right ear.
He wears a strip of red cloth around one wrist and refuses to explain its origin.
His left thumbnail is stained permanently blue from marsh berries and alchemical ink.
He smiles at the wrong moments, especially when someone admits they are frightened.
Voice
“A low, weathered baritone that sounds as though it has spent too many nights speaking over rain. His laughter is brief and startled, like a bird taking flight.”
Clothing
A patched brown-green cloak treated with wax and fish oil, a sleeveless quilted vest, loose linen trousers tucked into reed-wrapped boots, and a faded red sash containing small tools. His clothing is practical but carefully maintained, with every buckle and cord replaced before it fails.
Body Language
Tavren keeps his shoulders slightly hunched and angles his body toward the nearest exit. He rarely stands squarely in front of anyone. His fingers rest near his bowstring without appearing to grip it, and when he is amused, he tilts his head sharply to one side as though listening for a distant animal.
