The Path That Remembers
Read Aloud
The silver path buckles under your feet, and the birch trunks turn to face you. Shrubs tear themselves from the soil as thorned vines coil across the root bridge. From the moonlit branches, satyrs raise their bows and call, “Walk gently, or stay here.”

Battlefield Zones
1
Silver Birch Path
Silver Birch Path: A 25-foot trail between pale trunks; roots count as difficult terrain when creatures move against the slope.
2
Moon Pool
Moon Pool: A 25-foot pool of black water and glowing mushrooms; creatures entering the water leave a visible trail of silver ripples.
3
Root Bridge
Root Bridge: A 25-foot arched bridge over a dark ravine; falling creatures land in tangled roots 15 feet below.
Terrain Levers
- A respectful offering at the Moon Pool reveals the safe route and cancels the next navigation setback.
- A root bridge can be crossed or collapsed, separating creatures on either side.
- A living birch can be spared, marked, or cut. Cutting it shifts the path and calls one extra Vine Blight at the end of the round.
- Bright flame near the mushrooms causes them to flare, lightly obscuring the glade until the next round.
- A spoken apology to the fey can end one Satyr's hostility for 1 round.
