Cohn drives the last recovered fragment into the black iron seal as the rooftop shudders beneath your feet. The Nexus conduit tears open, spilling cold blue light, and a Shadow Wraith rises through it with a human face stretched across its darkness. Cohn turns toward you and says, “Dawnvale does not need freedom. It needs someone willing to decide.”

- Moonlit Archives roof, 25 ft: loose slate, waist-high stacks of chained books, and a 10-ft drop to the street.
- Nexus Conduit, 25 ft: exposed silver cables and runes pulse through a cracked stone platform.
- Ritual Circle, 25 ft: six fragment sockets surround Cohn; removing a fragment costs an action and triggers a DC 15 Dexterity save or 3d6 force damage.
- A creature shoved into the conduit takes 3d8 lightning damage and cannot take reactions until the start of its next turn.
- A creature can pull down a book stack as an action, creating a 10-ft square of difficult terrain and granting half cover.
