Odrin Vale
Temple Keeper and Warden
Odrin Vale
Species
Human
Appearance
Odrin Vale appears as a long-limbed, stooped human man who seems to have been half-preserved by lakewater and half-eroded by age. His skin has the gray-green sheen of river stones left beneath a dock, with pale fingertips wrinkled like soaked parchment. He moves with a careful, listing grace, as if the floor might suddenly become deep water again. One eye is clear and silver-brown, the other clouded white from an old temple injury, yet the blind eye seems to stare hardest when he is angry. His beard hangs in wet ropes threaded with tiny reeds, black beads, and a single gold fishhook. He wears a patched temple surcoat over chain links oxidized blue-green, but beneath the grime his gloves are embroidered with delicate lilies, a surprisingly tender detail on such a haunted figure.
“Quiet, deliberate, and damp with old reverence; he speaks as though every word should be laid carefully on an altar and weighed for its echo..”

Distinguishing Features
A pale scar across his throat shaped like a crescent wave
One clouded eye that appears milky in daylight and luminous in torchlight
Prayer beads made from cracked lake-glass and fish vertebrae
A constant smell of wet stone, salt, and cold incense
A gold fishhook worn through a braid as a keepsake and warning
Voice
“A low, hushed baritone with a water-worn rasp, as if he speaks through a chapel cistern.”
Clothing
A damp temple surcoat over oxidized chain shirt, knee-high river boots, patched leather gloves, a reed-mask hanging at his belt, and a sash of prayer cords carrying keys, chalk, and votive beads
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders slightly hunched and his hands tucked into his sleeves until he is certain of a room. When thinking, he rubs his thumb over the fishhook on his beard or traces circles over his chest where a prayer scar lies. He rarely gestures broadly, preferring small, exact movements, but when he is frightened his fingers spread like fins and he backs toward the nearest wall.
