Oru Basati
Fighter, Rune Knight
Oru Basati
Species
Tectonic Forged, Star-Sand Calibrated
Appearance
Wall-Anchor 08 is built from dense black basalt plates fitted together with copper hoops, iron pins, and narrow seams of amber sealant. His shoulders are broad enough to fill a gate passage, yet his movements are unexpectedly careful, each step placed with the quiet precision of a mason setting a keystone. A warm golden Star-Sand core glows behind the heavy grate in his chest, brightening when he thinks and dimming when he lies. Fine mineral dust gathers along his joints like gray pollen. His most unsettling feature is his gentleness: he handles frightened children, cracked cups, and wounded animals with the same deliberate care he uses to operate blast gates. Before he speaks, his core gives a soft internal chime, followed by one measured intake of air through vents that do not need to breathe.
“His voice is a deep, resonant baritone that carries through stone corridors. Every sentence begins after a faint internal chime and a measured intake through his chest vents.”

Distinguishing Features
A golden Star-Sand core behind his chest grate brightens and darkens in response to emotion.
His left knee emits a faint bell-like note whenever he kneels, a harmless remnant of the floodgate accident.
Three copper hoops around his torso are engraved with the names of civilians he saved during the lower gorge evacuation.
He carries a tiny clay cup made by a child from the garrison kitchens and treats it with ceremonial care.
His voice begins with a low mechanical hum, but becomes almost tender when he speaks to frightened people.
Voice
“Low, warm, and stone-deep, with a faint metallic overtone. His pauses are deliberate rather than empty, and when his composure breaks, the gentleness disappears into a barely audible grinding tremor.”
Clothing
A soot-darkened gatekeeper's mantle hangs from copper shoulder brackets, its heavy fabric stitched with the garrison's red-and-gold seal. He wears layered iron plates over his basalt frame, a belt of gate keys and maintenance wedges, and a thick ash-filter scarf that he keeps wrapped around his neck despite having no need for it.
Body Language
Wall-Anchor 08 stands with his feet slightly splayed, as though perpetually compensating for unstable ground. He turns his entire torso toward whoever is speaking, never merely his head. When uncertain, he places two fingers against the copper hoop over his chest grate. When protective instincts take over, he moves between danger and others without announcing the decision.
