Appearance
Miklosz Gbadamosi is a narrow, long-limbed old man whose stillness feels more deliberate than rest. He stands with his weight slightly forward, as if listening to the floor through the soles of his feet. His skin is deep umber, dry at the knuckles but carefully oiled along the forearms, and his shaved scalp bears a faint constellation of pale birthmarks that resemble spilled millet. His beard is only a thumb-length fringe beneath his jaw, braided with red thread and tiny brass seed beads. He moves with startling softness, never quite lifting his heels, yet every turn is exact enough to seem rehearsed by a machine. The contradictory impression is that of immense delicacy wrapped around terrifying physical force. People notice within moments that he blinks very rarely, but when he does, he smiles as if someone has told him a private joke.
“His voice is low, dry, and remarkably gentle, with clipped consonants and a musical cadence that rises at the end of ordinary statements. He speaks slowly when offering kindness and rapidly when reciting names of the dead.”

Distinguishing Features
He wears a braid of red thread beneath his beard, renewed every new moon.
He never turns his back on a doorway, even while eating.
His palms are unusually smooth for a martial artist, while the soles of his feet are tough and faintly ridged.
A brass bead in his beard contains a single grain of blue rice, the last meal shared with his dead mother.
Voice
“A dry baritone with a soft Yoruba lilt and occasional Hungarian vowel shapes. It carries surprisingly far without ever sounding loud.”
Clothing
A sleeveless indigo robe patched with dozens of different fabrics, each patch sewn by someone he once sheltered. Beneath it he wears loose saffron trousers, soft gray footwraps, and a belt of braided horsehair. His clothing is immaculate except for one dark grease stain over the heart that he refuses to wash out.
Body Language
He keeps his hands folded loosely at his abdomen, thumbs touching in a slow alternating rhythm. When angered, he becomes motionless rather than tense. When amused, he tilts his head toward the sound instead of looking directly at the speaker.
