Appearance
Mira is a narrow-shouldered young woman with the stillness of someone accustomed to listening for danger beneath stone. She moves in small, exact shifts, never crossing a room directly when she can follow its walls. Her gaze rarely rests on a speaker's face. It travels instead to hinges, loose tiles, pockets, ceiling joints, and the hands of anyone holding a key. Her fingers are permanently darkened by ink, lamp soot, and mineral dust, with blunt nails polished smooth from years of handling brittle pages. She wears a calm expression that becomes almost severe when she is frightened. The unexpected contradiction is that her severe silhouette hides a soft, almost domestic tenderness: she carefully tucks stray threads back into other people's clothing and carries sugared fennel for frightened children.
“Low, measured, and precise. She pauses before important nouns as though checking them against an internal catalogue.”

Distinguishing Features
Her eyes constantly map the room, especially locks, ceiling seams, and other people's hands.
Her fingertips are stained in layered bands of black ink, blue mineral powder, and amber sealing wax.
A thin strip of linen is wrapped around her left wrist and covered in tiny handwritten measurements.
She carries a brass page clip shaped like a fish with no eyes.
She stands with one foot slightly turned toward the nearest exit, even during friendly conversations.
Voice
“A quiet contralto with a dry, almost musical cadence. In tombs, her voice seems louder than it should, while in crowded markets it nearly disappears into the surrounding noise.”
Clothing
A charcoal traveling coat cut short above the knees, lined with stitched pockets and stiffened at the shoulders. Beneath it she wears a faded blue tunic, dark trousers, soft-soled archive boots, and a gray headscarf pinned with a brass page clip. Her belt holds chalk, sealing wax, string, glass vials, and a narrow sabre. The coat smells faintly of cedar oil, old paper, and rain.
Body Language
Mira keeps her elbows close and her hands occupied with thread, chalk, or a pencil stub. She leans toward objects rather than people. When angry, she becomes perfectly still except for one thumb rubbing the edge of a page. When afraid, she smiles politely and begins measuring distances with her eyes.
