Niskra Vaskel
Fighter
Niskra Vaskel
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Niskra is a young half-orc woman with an almost cherubic human face set above a compact, powerful frame. Her cheeks are soft, her nose is small and blunt, and her lower tusks show whenever she smiles, which is often and usually at the wrong moment. Beneath her thin shirt, her shoulders and back carry the wiry definition of someone who hauls, climbs, and fights rather than trains for display. She moves with quick, economical steps, keeping her weight on the balls of her feet even while standing still. When waiting, she leans forward as though listening to the floor. Her hands are broad, callused, and usually busy with thread, wood shavings, or the edge of a cup. Three pale scars cross her left forearm in neat parallel lines, the lasting marks of a childhood punishment rather than a heroic battle. The unexpected contradiction is her laugh, which is bright, breathy, and almost girlish until the final rough note reveals the orcish depth beneath it.
“Her voice is low and clear, with a gentle upward lilt at the end of ordinary statements. When angry, the lilt vanishes and her words become extremely formal.”

Distinguishing Features
Small lower tusks that show prominently when she eats, smiles, or laughs.
Three pale parallel scars across her left forearm.
A habit of leaning forward while waiting, as though she can hear danger through the ground.
A brass buckle worn at her waist that is too large for her and visibly repaired with red thread.
She eats fruit with the peel still on, biting through it neatly with her tusks.
Voice
“A soft contralto with a warm, breathy quality, undercut by a rough orcish rasp when she laughs, shouts, or speaks from the chest.”
Clothing
A faded saffron tunic tucked into dark green work trousers, a sleeveless boiled-leather vest reinforced with copper studs, wrapped forearms, soft-soled boots, and a blue cord around her waist holding a tiny brass buckle. She keeps a patched red scarf tied around one wrist rather than her neck.
Body Language
Niskra waits with one foot slightly raised and her weight pitched forward, as if ready to spring over a puddle. She tilts her head when judging honesty, presses her thumb against her knuckles when angry, and hides embarrassment by baring her lower tusks in a smile. In combat, she crouches lower than expected and circles with small, precise steps.
