Seshani Mbele
River Warden
Seshani Mbele
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Sesha has the compact, youthful body of someone who grew strong by hauling, climbing, and surviving rather than by training for display. She moves with a quiet forward lean, as if every room has a slope only she can feel. Her skin is deep umber with a faint gray-green undertone, smooth across the cheeks and forehead but textured at the elbows and knuckles from years of work. Small lower tusks show when she smiles, which is often at inappropriate moments. She smells unmistakably of crushed mint, clean wool, and iron filings, a scent she does not realize clings to her. Her grooming is meticulous: her hair is combed flat at the temples and tied in a narrow cord at the nape, while the rest of her clothing is plain enough to suggest she would rather be mistaken for a servant than admired. The contradiction is in her hands, which are rough and work-worn, while her fingernails are carefully polished with pale clay.
“Her voice is low, breathy, and carefully paced, with soft sibilants and a faint river-port lilt. She pronounces names precisely, pauses before answering accusations, and becomes almost whisper-quiet when angry.”

Distinguishing Features
A clean, persistent scent of crushed mint, wool, and iron follows her wherever she goes.
Her lower tusks show prominently when she smiles, giving her expression an unexpectedly mischievous quality.
She keeps her hair and nails exceptionally neat despite her rough work.
Three tiny brass bells are sewn into the inside of her sash, and she unconsciously taps them before making a difficult decision.
Her left thumb has a faint square patch of darker skin from years of pressing chalk against bridge plans.
Voice
“Low, breathy, and sibilant, with a measured river-port cadence. Her words become softer, not louder, when she is furious.”
Clothing
A clean cream-colored linen shirt, a moss-green sleeveless work coat, charcoal trousers tucked into soft leather boots, and a broad blue sash containing loops for cord, chalk, and tools. Every garment is well-made but deliberately undecorated except for three tiny brass bells sewn inside the sash where only she can hear them.
Body Language
Sesha keeps her shoulders relaxed but her feet angled toward the nearest exit. She studies hands before faces, watches load-bearing beams when indoors, and touches the bridge of her nose whenever she is suppressing anger. Her smile is quick and genuine, but it vanishes the instant she hears someone cry out.
