Deep Mint of Karak-Vazul
Gold turns to rot where the violet light shines.
A subterranean dwarven mint where the smell of stale copper meets the choking sweetness of fungal decay. Grand brutalist architecture is now choked by massive, woody mushroom trunks and shimmering mycelium webs.
The Deep Mint of Karak-Vazul breathes like a buried wound beneath the mountain, a place where wealth was once hammered bright and now lies numbed under age and malice. Corridors of worked stone sweat cold moisture, and the air carries a bitter tang of old coin, verdigris, and something sweeter beneath it, like bruised flowers left to decay in a sealed vault. Violet radiance leaks through cracks in the dark, trembling over piles of tarnished treasure and the pale bones of forgotten guardians, turning gold to sickly ash and shadow to living ink. Every chamber feels half-remembered, as if the fortress itself is rotting from the inside while still pretending to be whole. The silence is not empty but waiting, heavy with the pressure of sealed riches, drowned prayers, and the slow, patient hunger of whatever now rules the mint below.
☠ Threat
The Sovereign Infestor, a massive fungal entity, has made the Mint its hive. It has repurposed the dwarven mechanical systems to spread hallucinogenic spores. Its goal is to process the mineral-rich blood of intruders into fertilizer for its growing army of spore-servants.
History
The Deep Mint was once the pride of the Karak-Vazul dwarves, a high-security vault and treasury fueled by geothermal forges. A century ago, a seismic shift opened a vein to a fungal pocket, unleashing a rapid-growth infestation that consumed the garrison in days. The dwarves sealed the upper vents, leaving their riches to the quiet creep of the rot.

Rumours & Whispers

A lone dwarf survivor claims the doors are stuck because the mountain itself is growing lungs.

Old maps show a secondary entrance through the forge chimneys, but the air there is lethal.
