The Root-Choke Sepulcher
Life and death tangle in the suffocating embrace of the Great Burl.
An ancient druidic hollow carved into the petrified roots of a world-tree sapling. Spores and vines move with a malevolent intent, guarding secrets of the primal earth within an organic, pulsating maze.
The air is humid and smells of wet earth and sickly-sweet decay. A faint, rhythmic pulsing echoes through the bark walls, accompanied by the dim, bioluminescent glow of phosphorescent mushrooms and the rustle of invisible vines.
☠ Threat
The Blight-Spore Infestation is the primary danger. A parasitic fungal hive-mind is slowly consuming the region, using the sepulcher as its heart. It animates the dead as spore-servants and transforms intruders into mulch to feed the central Shriveled Altar, spreading its rot through the forest roots.
History
Originally a sanctuary for the Circle of the Severed Root, these druids sought to merge their spirits with the forest's lifeblood. After a fungal blight corrupted the grove, the druids became shambling husks, and their sanctuary was swallowed by the earth. Now, the sepulcher serves as a rotting tomb for the forest's dark memory and its parasitic masters.
