The Outer Transit
The echoes of iron boots ring through functional limestone halls.
A fortified sequence of limestone corridors and pillared halls designed for military defense. The air is cool and smells of smoke, damp stone, and the iron of lowering portcullises.
The sound of distant grinding gears accompanies the smell of roasting meat from campfires. Flickering torches in iron brackets provide dim light, casting long shadows behind thick limestone pillars. The temperature is brisk, with a constant draft blowing from the deeper levels below.
☠ Threat
Warmonger Kraz and his 'Stone-Eye' orc legion have fortified the Transit. They use the limestone pillars for cover and utilize the architectural defenses like arrow slits to whittle down intruders. Kraz aims to claim all relics passing through this level and executes any who refuse his heavy tolls.
History
Built by the ancient Archon Trading Guild, this transit was meant to secure the path to the deeper vaults. It served as a checkpoint and tax office for centuries until it was abandoned during the Great Collapse. Recently, an aggressive warband has occupied the halls, restoring the functional traps and arrow slits to control access to the depths.
