The Iron Marrow Pit
Hope bleeds out where the iron meets the bone.
A high-security subterranean prison level carved from cold granite and reinforced with rusted iron. The facility is designed for total surveillance and the suppression of magical ability.
The air is freezing and tastes of rust and copper. Flickering magical lanterns cast elongated shadows across cold granite floors while the constant dripping of water and distant clanking of chains create a discordant, nerve-wracking soundtrack.
☠ Threat
The Pit Warden, a corrupted Wight Captain, remains bound to his post in the Panopticon tower. He commands a legion of skeletal sentries and is fueled by the 'Sorrowsworn' entity that feeds on the lingering despair of the dead cells. He seeks to prevent any soul from ever leaving the Pit alive.
History
Constructed by the Iron Order during a forgotten purge, this pit served as a disappearance site for sorcerers and dissidents. The name originates from the rumor that the stone was tempered with marrow to dampen the weave of magic. It was abandoned after a catastrophic prisoner riot left no survivors among the staff or the incarcerated.
