Its story
What it looks like
A waist-high altar of gray stone stands among immense, twisted trees.
Its surface is worn smooth except for a shallow handprint and a ring of root-shaped grooves. The roots beneath the clearing look ordinary until they flex like fingers.
Why it is here
Protect Garukhan's grave and the Stone of Earth while keeping the burial place concealed beneath an undisturbed forest floor.
Who made it
The keepers of Garukhan's grave, who bound the forest's oldest roots to guard the Stone of Earth without exposing the burial place.
Lore
Garukhan was buried with the Stone of Earth beneath the old trees.
The grave's keepers shaped a ward that would let roots grow naturally over the tomb, but rouse them if anyone tried to dig down or force the altar open. Vamir awakened the root network to retrieve the stone without disturbing the grave, a feat that suggests he learned how to manipulate the ward rather than simply overpower it.
Where it is found
A secluded forest clearing centered on a weathered altar and ancient, gnarled trees.
The grave lies twenty feet beneath the roots.
