Whispering Bramble Thicket
A dense patch of sentient, magically enhanced brambles that feed on the fear and blood of travelers. The vines twitch with unnatural speed and emit low, unsettling whispers that mimic the voices of loved ones.

Detection
“Thick, pulsating vines covered in three inch long, obsidian colored thorns. The leaves are a sickly dark purple, and the ground beneath is unnaturally devoid of other life.”
Standard Engagement
The thicket activates when a Small or larger creature moves more than 10 feet into its area or speaks at a normal volume.
On initiative count 15, the thicket takes two actions. First, it uses Whispering Lure: Each creature within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be compelled to move 10 feet toward the center of the thicket. Second, it uses Flailing Thorns: The thicket makes two melee attacks (+6 to hit) against random targets within its area. On a hit, a target takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage and is Restrained (escape DC 13).
The thicket regrows to full strength 24 hours after being reduced to 0 hit points unless the ground is salted or burned with magical fire.
The vines mimic voices, forcing a DC 13 Wisdom save or moving the target deeper into danger.
+6 to hit, 2d6 piercing damage and the target is Restrained by barbed vines.
The area occupied by the thicket is difficult terrain. Any creature that moves into or through the area for the first time on a turn takes 3 (1d6) piercing damage.
Whenever the thicket takes fire damage, its Flailing Thorns attack has disadvantage on its next turn as the vines recoil.
