The relief emits a psychic wave. Each creature in a 15-foot cube originating from the relief must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 22 (4d10) psychic damage and is Blinded for 1 minute. On a success, it takes half damage and is not Blinded. A Blinded creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns.
The ward cannot trigger against a creature that is in total darkness and is not using Darkvision to look at the statue. The gaze requires a visual connection to activate.
