The Subterranean Maw
The roots of the Heartseed hunger for the essence of the living.
An organic nightmare of pulsing wood and damp peat beneath the Rotskogen forest. The dungeon consists of living chambers connected by hollow, vein-like roots that pump dark fluids throughout the complex.
The air is heavy with the smell of wet earth and copper blood. A low, rhythmic thumping vibrates through the floor, while bioluminescent spores provide a dim, sickly red glow.
☠ Threat
The Crimson Saplings cult, led by Arch-Sapling Vane, seeks to corrupt the Heartseed completely using the Blight-Kernel. Their presence has caused the forest to rot from the inside out, as they siphon life from the land to empower a forgotten, earth-bound deity.
History
Once a sacred grove, the Heartseed tree's roots were occupied by the Crimson Saplings cult. They hollowed out the Great Tree's foundations to create a site for blood-tithes, turning a natural wonder into a biological machine for necromantic rituals. Now, the tree is kept in a state of perpetual agony to fuel their dark magic.
Encounter Table

A cultist carrying a bioluminescent lantern and a jagged dagger.
