Crestburrower

Folk songs call them ridge-carvers or crest-eaters. Shepherds tell of wandering flocks swallowed by sudden sinkholes and of the shimmering ridges that mark ancient crestburrower nests. Some cultures revere the crystals as omens of bounty; others fear the beasts as omens of annihilation.

Earthmover. The crestburrower ignores difficult terrain that is natural earth or rock while burrowing. It can move through earth and rock as if it were difficult terrain.
Arcane Averse. If the crestburrower would be targeted by a spell of 1st level or higher it has advantage on the saving throw if the spell deals damage or tries to charm or frighten it. If it fails the save the crestburrower is annoyed and will usually attempt to withdraw from the area on its next turn.
Seismic Sense. The crestburrower can sense vibrations through solid earth for up to 1 mile. It can pinpoint the source of steady vibrations within 300 feet. It cannot distinguish color, language, or words through this sense.
Torpor. The crestburrower does not require sleep and instead re-enters a restful torpor while half-buried. It spends 4 hours each day with minimal activity to restore its physical vigor.
Crystal Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 28 () slashing damage plus 7 () piercing damage from crystalline shards. If the target is a creature wearing metal armor or carrying metal weapons, the shards deal an additional 3 () piercing damage.
Sudden Sinkhole (Recharge 5-6). The crestburrower slams its armored back into the ground at a point it can reach within 60 feet. Every creature on that 15-foot-radius area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save a creature takes 21 () bludgeoning damage and is knocked prone as sinkhole fissures open beneath them and the ground becomes difficult terrain. On a successful save a creature takes half as much damage and is not knocked prone. The affected area becomes difficult terrain and counts as a shallow sinkhole for 1 minute. Creatures that start their turn in the area must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pulled 10 feet toward the sinkhole's center and fall prone.
Crestfall (Deadly Leap). If the crestburrower moves at least 15 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a Crystal Claw attack on the same turn, the target must succeed on a Strength or Dexterity saving throw (target's choice) or be knocked prone and take an extra 14 () bludgeoning damage as the beast smashes through soil and rock to throw the foe. On a success the target takes half the extra damage and is not knocked prone.
Earth-Throwing Grunt. If a creature within 10 feet of the crestburrower makes a melee attack against it, the crestburrower can grunt and slam the ground. The attacker must succeed on a Strength saving throw or have disadvantage on that attack as unstable shards and shifting earth jolt their footing.
