Appearance
Rukiyasdaa moves like someone who spent childhood climbing tree branches and reading winds. She is lean and lithe with quick, economical motions. Her skin carries thin pale scars like spiderwebs along her forearms and the bridge of her nose, souvenirs from thorn and bramble. Her right ear bears a ring of tiny carved wooden beads, each carved by a person she has owed a promise to. She keeps a faded green shawl draped over one shoulder even in warm weather. Unexpectedly, she wears a child's carved wooden bracelet under her armor that makes a quiet, hollow clack when she draws breath.

Distinguishing features
Personality
9 traits and drivesWarm and quietly amused with strangers but tight-lipped about her past. She is generous with food and shelter to those clearly in need and stingy with praise. When planning she is fastidious; when grieving she is suddenly impulsive. She keeps promises to others more strictly than she keeps them to herself. In crowds she is polite but distant. Alone with trusted companions she lets small jokes and songs slip out. She is prone to sudden protective ferocity when she perceives children or the forest are threatened.

Background
Rukiya grew up in a ring of villages on the edge of an ancient forest where her mother taught herbal lore and her father patrolled trade routes. At twelve she lost her elder sister to a bandit raid. The event reshaped her life: she learned stealth, survival, and to hold grudges in private while appearing cheerful in public. At twenty she left with a roaming hunter's band to track a beast that had killed a friend. The hunt failed but taught her to read tracks like stories. She returned home to find her village slowly swallowed by a merchant coalition buying up timber and lease rights. She now works as a guide and protector for forestfolk, takes paying jobs escorting caravans through the trees, and secretly funnels part of her earnings to the local resistance that tries to blunt the coalition's logging. Her current problem is that the coalition has hired a skilled tracker and a small contingent of mercenaries who may have marks that match the ones used by the bandits who killed her sister. She believes the two threats are connected and is trying to prove it.
