Species
Human
Appearance
Silas is built like a sea-wall, a man of massive breadth who seems to physically displace the air in a room. His skin is the color of old mahogany, deeply creased with salt-crusted wrinkles around his eyes. His left ear is a jagged ruin, missing the upper half entirely. He moves with a slow, deliberate heaviness, as if he is always bracing against a coming storm. His salt-and-pepper beard is coarse and always smells faintly of hops and pipe weed. Contradicting his rough exterior is a small necklace of polished blue sea-glass he wears hidden beneath his collar, which he touches when he thinks no one is looking.
“Silas speaks in short, clipped fragments. His voice is a low, gravelly baritone that sounds like stones being ground together.”

Missing upper half of his left ear
Thick salt-and-pepper beard that reaches his collarbone
Heavily calloused, scarred knuckles
Faint smell of brine and smoked fish

“Gravelly and deep, with a rhythmic cadence reminiscent of tide waves hitting a hull.”
Clothing
He wears a heavy, grease-stained leather apron over a tunic of homespun wool. His trousers are tucked into mud-caked leather boots that lack the polish of city folk. A massive iron keyring hangs from a stout belt at his hip.
Body Language
Silas stands with his arms crossed over his chest, his weight shifted to one side. He never looks people in the eye, instead staring at their footwear to gauge their status.
