Rivet
Rivet
At the table
Voice
A deep, rasping baritone that sounds like gravel being fed through a mill.
Staccato and technical, punctuated by the sounds of grinding metal in his vocal box. He avoids first-person pronouns, referring to himself as 'this unit.'
Speech patterns
How to play them
Direct, transactional, and dismissive of emotional appeals.
Goal
To find the missing piece of the 'Pit Machine.'
Motivation
To catalogue every layer of the Black Pit and find the 'Primary Component' he believes is buried at its absolute bottom.
Appearance
Rivet is a haunting silhouette of weathered stone and oxidised metal. His frame is a patchwork of mismatched limbs, with a left arm scavenged from a bulkier Titan model that drags slightly on the ground. His chest plates are pitted with deep corrosion from the acidic vapours of the Black Pit, yet they are polished to a dull, oily sheen. Where most Warforged have a smooth faceplate, Rivet has bolted a series of rotating brass lenses over his left eye socket, which click and whirr as he focuses. His movement is jerky and deliberate, resembling a clockwork toy losing its spring. The most striking contradiction is the faint, incongruous scent of pressed lavender that clings to him, a sensory ghost from a past he refuses to discuss.
Clothing
A heavy apron made of cured monster hide over a harness of thick leather straps. The harness is festooned with dozens of pouches, vials of dark fluid, and hooks holding various metal oddities.
Body language
Stiff and rigid, punctuated by occasional, violent tremors in his left arm which he ignores.

Distinguishing features
Personality
12 traits and drivesRivet is an entity of cold, clinical detachment who views the universe as a failing machine. He is meticulously polite but lacks any empathy, treating a broken leg with the same technical indifference as a snapped axle. While he is obsessively protective of the geological records he has carved into the walls of his shop, he is utterly careless with his own physical safety. He speaks to people as if they are inventory, often checking the 'durability' of a customer's armor by tapping it with a hammer without warning. Beneath his mechanical exterior lies a desperate, frantic need for order in the face of the entropic void of the Black Pit.

Background
Constructed during the height of the Last War for the Brelish front, Rivet was originally a logistics and repair unit. Following the Treaty of Thronehold, he was decommissioned but found he could not stop 'maintaining.' He wandered into the Blackcaps and became mesmerised by the Black Pit. The scale of the anomaly, its ancient geological strata, and the absolute silence of the depths compared to the noise of war caused a systemic shift in his psyche. He settled in the village of Black Pit, opening Scrap and Sinew. He spends his nights descending into the chasm on long chains, convinced that the world is an engine and the Pit is the hole where a vital piston was removed. He collects both metal and biological 'parts' to eventually fill that void.
Role in the story
