Perrin 'Pip' Thistledown
Bard
Perrin 'Pip' Thistledown
Species
Lightfoot Halfling
Appearance
Short even for a halfling with a dancer's lithe posture. Wears a patchwork of stage-worn silks and patched traveling coats, each patch embroidered with tiny scenes of places he claims to have 'borrowed' a tune from. His left sleeve is always rolled to mid-forearm revealing a faded tattoo of a mandolin wrapped with ivy. He moves with a quick, balletic step that betrays his performer training, but his hands constantly fidget with a small carved bone whistle hidden between his fingers. Contradiction: his face is perpetually sun-bright and smiling, but his eyes judge people like a careful bookbinder inspecting the spine of a rare volume.
“Musical and articulate; leans on theatrical phrasing when trying to charm or disarm. When annoyed he shortens sentences and drops the performative flourishes.”

Distinguishing Features
Faded mandolin-and-ivy forearm tattoo
Small carved bone whistle worn like a ring on his right index finger
A missing front tooth he hides behind a constant smile
Voice
“Bright, slightly nasal, with a storyteller's cadence; rises and falls like a song. In private it drops to a softer, more gravelly register.”
Clothing
A layered performer's coat of deep teal silk patched with mismatched brocades, fitted breeches, high soft boots, and a crimson scarf he knots differently depending on whether he expects to charm nobles or roughhands. A small traveling pouch holds coins, plectrums, and a folded playbill.
Body Language
Hands always in motion—tugging at cuffs, tapping rhythms on surfaces, or shaping the air when telling a story. When lying he tilts his head and loops a thumb over his whistle.
