Arch-Prelate Valerius
Archpriest
Arch-Prelate Valerius
Species
Human
Appearance
Valerius is a frail man whose physical presence seems to be held together by divine will alone. His skin is like thin, translucent parchment stretched over high cheekbones. Most striking are his eyes: milky white and sightless, yet they emit a constant, soft golden luminescence that brightens when he speaks of Kirlis. He moves with a slow, measured grace, never stumbling despite his blindness. Curiously, while he resides in the opulent marble halls of the Cathedral, he always smells of common yeast and warm baking bread, a scent that contradicts his high-born office.
“Valerius speaks in a low, melodic whisper that forces others to lean in. He uses archaic religious terminology and often speaks in the first-person plural, referring to himself and his deity as 'We'.”

Distinguishing Features
Eyes that glow with a faint, pulsing golden light
A deep, crescent-shaped scar on his right palm
Continuous scent of fresh bread
Hands that never stop trembling unless they are clasped in prayer
Voice
“Soft, rhythmic, and breathy, like the sound of wind through dry leaves.”
Clothing
Heavy, multilayered robes of pure white silk trimmed with gold thread. A heavy stole hangs from his neck, embroidered with the symbol of the Golden Glove on the ends. He wears no shoes, preferring to feel the 'sacred earth' of the cathedral floor.
Body Language
Valerius sits very still, often with his hands folded in his lap. He turns his whole body to face someone speaking to him, keeping his glowing eyes directed at their chest rather than their face.
