Is this Pathfinder 2e character builder free?
Yes. Building and generating a Pathfinder 2e character is free with a CharGen account. You can choose the edition, ancestry and class before you sign in, and the builder keeps those choices when you do.
Does it support the Pathfinder 2e Remaster?
Yes. Choose Pathfinder 2e Remaster for the Player Core and Player Core 2 rules, or Pathfinder 2e Legacy for the Core Rulebook and Advanced Player's Guide. They are separate systems, and the server checks every choice against the edition you picked.
Which classes and ancestries can I choose?
Both editions have the 16 core classes: Alchemist, Barbarian, Bard, Champion, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Investigator, Monk, Oracle, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer, Swashbuckler, Witch and Wizard. The Remaster rules have 16 ancestries and 63 backgrounds. The Legacy rules have 11 ancestries and 60 backgrounds.
Can I build a character above level 1?
Yes. Set any level from 1 to 20. The builder shows the ability boosts and the ancestry, class, skill and general feat slots for each level up to the level you set.
Does it check feat prerequisites?
It shows them, but you check them. Each feat shows its printed prerequisites, rule text and source book next to the choice. When you submit, the server checks that every feat belongs to the edition, slot type and level you chose.
Does it write a backstory?
Yes. After the rules choices, add a name and a short idea for the character's personality. The AI writes a backstory and personality that fit the ancestry, background and class you chose.
What is not included yet?
The builder uses the Remaster and Legacy core books only. Deity choices, other rulebooks and extra archetypes are not included yet.
Can I make a D&D character too?
Yes. The same builder makes D&D 2014, D&D 2024 and Dungeon World characters. Use the D&D character generator, or change the system on the first step here.
