Key Personas

Oisín Tallow
Oisín presents himself as a jolly, generous host who remembers every patron's name, yet he is internally calculating and keeps a mental tally of every customer's potential value. He is exceptionally patient with boisterous tourists but has zero tolerance for anyone who disrespects his staff, often turning from jovial to bone-chillingly cold in a heartbeat. He is a man who treats secrets like fine wine - some are for immediate consumption, while others must be aged until they fetch a higher price.

Valerius Mallow
Valerius is a man trapped between his natural kindness and his crippling fear of authority. He is hyper-focused on the minutiae of his craft as a way to avoid looking at the bigger, uglier picture of his employment. While he is incredibly patient with the tourists who frequent his shop, offering them gentle advice on skincare, he is brusque and irritable with his subordinates. He suffers from a deep, gnawing guilt that manifests as insomnia, yet his instinct for self-preservation makes him hesitant to take the final step toward rebellion. He is a person who would save a drowning insect but finds himself facilitating the slow death of a sentient being.

Lady Elara Vane
Elara is a woman of icy composure and absolute discipline. She is pathologically devoted to Shorehaven's prosperity, treating the town's reputation as a sacred trust that justifies any moral compromise. She is impeccably polite to tourists and high-born visitors, often displaying a warmth that feels rehearsed and hollow. However, with her subordinates and family, she is a demanding perfectionist who views any mistake as a personal betrayal. She holds a deep, secret contempt for the very tourists she courts, viewing them as plump gulls to be plucked for the good of her city. Despite her wealth, she lives a Spartan personal life, finding comfort only in the vibration of the sea through her locket.
