The Crossroads Lantern
The tavern began as a wagon stop at the crossroads where two dirt roads met the old grain route. When bandits started raiding travelers, the owner turned the place into a day and night refuge for local farmers, muleteers, and anyone with enough coin to keep the fire lit. Over time it became the safest stop for miles, though the windows are still shuttered early whenever the woods go quiet in an unnerving way.
