The wooden palisades of Greenvale rise like jagged teeth against the emerald canopy of the surrounding forest. Within the walls, the air carries the scent of fresh-cut pine and baking bread, but a nervous energy hums through the village streets. A sturdy wooden walkway hugs the interior of the wall, where local militia keep a constant watch on the encroaching treeline. To the north, the 'Old Spire' stands silent and decaying, a skeletal stone finger pointing toward a sky that seems perpetually gray. Just outside the southern gate, the great sails of the village windmill groan under the weight of the valley winds. It is the lifeblood of the community, yet it sits exposed and lonely beyond the safety of the sharpened logs. As dusk falls, the villagers retreat behind their gates, casting uneasy glances toward the tower that watched their ancestors and the windmill that feeds their children, wondering which will be the first to bring ruin.

Greenvale appears as a sturdy sanctuary against the dense forest of the Whispering Weald. Its most striking feature is the thick wooden palisade, built from massive logs that seem almost too heavy for their height. Inside the walls, a wooden walkway allows the Wardens of the Wall to patrol high above the mud. The village smells of wet sawdust and pine, but a faint, metallic odor always lingers near the northern gate.
