Plague Saint Sewers

The dead do not rest where the city flushes its sins.

10 roomssewermedium

Beneath the city lies a drowned maze of brick drains, forgotten service chambers, and a buried shrine to a saint of purification. The place has become a feeding ground for the dead, who rise from the sludge and stalk the narrow passages as if they still served some ancient duty.

The sewer tunnels are cold, wet, and reeking of old filth, rust, and sweet rot. Dripping water echoes through brick channels, pale corpse-lights flicker in clogged grates, and the walls sweat grime that seems to move when nobody stares long enough.

☠ Threat

A drowned corpse-priest, once the keeper of the cleansing rites, has risen in the deepest vault and is rallying the plague dead into a single host. It feeds on burial magic, stirs rot in the pipes, and sends lesser undead through the tunnels to stop anyone who might restore the old seals.

History

When plague swept the city, the ash-priests built these sewers wider than needed so carts of lime, corpses, and runoff could pass below the streets. They raised two shrines to a river saint, hoping to cleanse the sickness at its source, but the lower vaults flooded before the rites were complete. The dead were never fully laid to rest, and the sealed chambers below were forgotten until the city heard them knocking back.
