Mossfang Cave
Wet stone, stolen light, and hungry claws wait in the dark.
This cave complex was carved and expanded by creatures that learned to use stone, shadow, and old scraps of magic. Its central chambers hold a filthy power center, while smaller side rooms serve as shrine, lair, and killing ground for anyone foolish enough to enter.
The cave air is cold, wet, and stale, carrying the stink of bat guano, algae, and old blood. Water drips from the ceiling in steady echoes, and pale fungus throws a weak green glow across slick stone and jagged shadows.
☠ Threat
A ruthless cave shaman named Grimjaw has bound the local beasts and raiders into a loose warband, using fear, fungus, and old blood rites to control the caverns. If left alone, he plans to send creatures out through the tunnels to raid nearby roads and eventually collapse the shrine chamber to bury any proof of the cave's sacred past.
History
Long before monsters took it, this cave sheltered a small subterranean shrine tended by hillfolk who offered water and game to a stone spirit. Years ago a brutal band of cave-dwellers drove them out, killed the caretakers, and turned the chambers into a base for ambushes, storage, and dark rites. Their leader now uses the old altar as a symbol of rule, claiming the cave answers to no surface lord.
