Appearance

Medrash Ash-Wrench is a compact, sinewy Chromavaft woman with a body that seems forged from layered mineral glass and warm stone. Her skin constantly shifts in narrow bands of charcoal, copper, and oil-slick violet, as if light is trying to remember how to rest on her. Along her forearms and throat, hairline seams glow faintly like banked coals when she is excited or angry. She moves with a mechanic's economy, each step measured and precise, yet there is a surprising softness to her hands, which are callused but careful. Her most startling feature is a cracked porcelain left eye plate, delicate and antique-looking, that contrasts with the rest of her body like a treasured relic rather than an injury. When she smiles, it is usually at the wrong moment, which makes her seem both unsettling and oddly kind.

Height5 ft. 1 in.
BuildLean, wiry, and resilient, with broad forearms and a narrow waist shaped by labor rather than combat
EyesMelted gold in the right eye, porcelain-white glass in the left
HairNo true hair, only a crest of soot-black filament strands that crackle faintly near heat
SkinBasalt-gray with shifting veins of copper, ember-red, and smoke-blue

Measured and low, with occasional furnace-district slang. She uses precise technical terms even when talking about feelings, as if emotional damage can be patched with the right fastener.”

Distinguishing Features

Cracked porcelain left eye plate

Glowing seam-lines along throat and forearms

Permanent soot stain shaped like a spiral on her right palm

Copper ring welded into one ear ridge

Faint scent of hot stone and rain on metal

Voice

Soft, rasping, and confident when discussing machinery, with an unexpectedly tender edge when speaking about the lost or wounded.

Clothing

A smoke-dark leather coat reinforced with copper stitching, ashproof gloves with three missing fingertips on the right hand, heavy work boots, and a utility sash crowded with hooks, coils, chalk, and small brass tools. Hidden beneath the coat is a surprisingly elegant inner lining of blue silk, a keepsake from her mother that she wears even in grime.

Body Language

She stands with one shoulder slightly forward, as if perpetually braced against a draft, and gestures in short, exact motions like tightening invisible screws.
