Tovin Embervein
Fighter
Tovin Embervein
Species
Mountain Dwarf
Appearance
Tovin is a broad-shouldered mountain dwarf with soot-caked hands, a weathered face, and a surprising poise that makes him seem taller than he is. His beard is braided into three thick cords wrapped with copper wire, tiny prayer beads, and one cracked glass lamp chimney he refuses to remove. His leather armor is patched with furnace cloth and soot-stiff aprons, but beneath it he wears a neatly folded collar of pale blue linen that looks absurdly elegant against the grime. He moves with a careful, side-to-side certainty, like a man crossing a narrow ledge in a storm, and even when he smiles he gives the impression of listening to the walls.
“Low and measured, with a gravelly humor and the occasional old dwarven proverb. He tends to use concrete terms, then surprise people with a precise, almost poetic observation when least expected.”

Distinguishing Features
A cracked glass lamp chimney worn as a beard ornament
A burn-scar that crosses his left thumb and forefinger
Copper-wire braid rings woven through his beard
A faint smell of hot metal and rain-soaked ash
One eye is slightly more clouded than the other from smoke exposure
Voice
“Baritone and slightly smoky, with a careful cadence that turns harsher when he is worried”
Clothing
A soot-dark leather breastpiece over a blue linen collar, heavy boots with iron toe caps, fingerless gloves, and a waxed travel cloak lined in orange stitching
Body Language
He stands with feet planted wide, hands usually busy with a tool, ring, or strap. When he is uncertain, his thumb rubs the side of his index finger where a burn scar splits the skin. When he trusts someone, he leans in a fraction and lowers his shoulders, as if giving them more space to breathe.
