Appearance
Thadric Veylen is a lean, almost spare human man with the quiet poise of someone who has spent more years among shelves than battlefields. He stands just under average height, with a straight, careful posture that makes him seem taller when he is concentrating and smaller when he is tired. His skin is a soft cream tone, smooth and unweathered except for the faint redness at his knuckles from constant washing. A thin silver circlet rests on his brow, dulled by years of use and polished only where his fingers unconsciously touch it. His dark eyes are wide and searching, quick to flick toward wounds, exits, faces, and lies. He has black hair cut close and practical, a sharp jaw, a narrow nose, and a pale scar that splits his left eyebrow. His linen robes are plain and undyed, but the cuffs are reinforced with neat, almost obsessive stitching. Despite his healer's serenity, he moves with a faintly birdlike tension, and there is something contradictory in him: his hands are steady enough for surgery, yet he flinches at loud laughter as if it were a thrown stone.
“Measured, gentle, and precise, with the cadence of someone who has spent years explaining terrible news without making it cruel. He uses medical metaphors for almost everything, but his tone turns surprisingly warm when speaking to the wounded or the grieving.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin scar bisecting his left eyebrow
A silver circlet worn so long it has developed a soft sheen at the temples
Long, surgeon-steady fingers with faint ink stains at the nails
A tiny scar on the inside of his wrist from a failed field amputation
A habit of breathing in before speaking, as if measuring the cost of each sentence
Voice
“Soft, steady, and slightly worn at the edges, as if every sentence has been carried through a crowded infirmary before reaching the listener.”
Clothing
Undyed linen healer's robes with reinforced cuffs, a worn leather belt, soft gray undertunic, practical boots, and a silver circlet of office that has been repaired more than once
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders slightly rounded as if trying to make room for other people, but his hands remain precise and controlled. When he is thinking, he folds two fingers over the silver circlet at his brow. If angered, his jaw tightens before his voice changes at all.
