After the desperate struggle against the pack of eighteen ravenous ghouls, the party finds the source of their congregating: a pile of discarded corpses in a deep stone pit within the dungeon. Sifting through the remains of unfortunate travelers and a few long-dead explorers reveals a modest collection of treasures that the undead had no use for, though the items still carry the faint, cloying scent of the grave. The presence of a sun deity symbol suggests some of these victims were adventurers who fell while trying to cleanse this dark place.
