The Depths-Lord Sluice-Vault

The heavy circular wheel of the vault rotates with a grinding mechanical hiss. As the pressure seal breaks, a small pocket of stale air bubbles upward, replaced by a slow intake of cold seawater. The massive door swings open on silent, grease-slicked hinges to reveal a light-tight chamber. Inside, several velvet-lined compartments remain miraculously dry, protected by a secondary shimmering field of force that flickers and fades as you step across the threshold.
