Appearance
A small, wiry boy who seems to move in two rhythms at once, half skitter and half glide. His face is all sharp elbows and quick expressions, with soot often smeared across one cheek as if he has been caught mid-escape. He wears a patched coat cut from three different adult garments, but the lining is unexpectedly fine silk, stolen from a noble's chapel cloak and kept for luck. His hands are quick, nicked, and surprisingly careful, with fingertips stained by ink, candle wax, and chimney ash. When he thinks no one is watching, he stands very still, almost ceremonial, like a street urchin pretending to be a statue.
“Fast, sly, and full of half-finished truths. Tomas speaks as if every sentence might need to be abandoned midair, but when he finally trusts someone, his voice softens and becomes startlingly old for his age.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent-shaped scar behind his left ear from a broken bottle
One front tooth slightly chipped, giving his grin a lopsided edge
A wax-sealed brass thimble worn on a cord around his neck
An odd habit of wearing one sleeve rolled high and the other down
A faint scent of chimney smoke and peppermint oil
Voice
“A quick, hushed voice with a dry rasp when he laughs, like paper brushed against stone”
Clothing
A patched charcoal coat with a hidden inner pocket, soft buckle boots one size too large, a red scarf used as both disguise and sling, fingerless gloves with sewn-in coin loops, and a bright brass button pinned inside his collar for luck
Body Language
Restless and fluid, with shoulders slightly hunched to make himself smaller. His fingers are always busy, turning coins, twisting cords, or testing clasps, and his gaze flicks like a dart between faces and hands. When angry, he becomes frighteningly still.
