Appearance
Badger Kincaid is a broad-shouldered human with the compact, spring-loaded frame of a man built by alley fights and monastery drills. His head is shaved close enough to shine in lamplight, and his beard is full and dark, kept in neat, blunt lines that make his ruined face look almost ceremonial. He has sad, almost puppy-like eyes that seem too soft for the set of his jaw, and they give him an unsettling contradiction, as if he is perpetually one bad memory away from kindness. His skin is scarred with pale rope-burn marks, knuckle splits, and old bruises that never quite faded. He moves like a coiled door hinge, abrupt and silent, but when he relaxes he slouches with the tired patience of a dockworker. The most unexpected thing about him is a delicate silver prayer-chain wrapped around one wrist, polished clean with obsessive care, hanging beside the broken skin of his knuckles.
“Low, rough, and measured, with the cadence of a man who learned to waste no breath in a fight. He uses unexpected gentleness when talking to children or the injured, and his voice flattens into dangerous calm when he is angry.”

Distinguishing Features
Puppy-sad eyes that make his brutal reputation seem almost impossible
A broken left knuckle that healed slightly crooked
A silver prayer-chain always worn on one wrist
Three thin scars across his ribs shaped like claw marks
A habit of breathing in a silent four-count before any decisive action
Voice
“A gravel-warm baritone that turns unexpectedly soft when he says someone's name with real affection”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal wrap tunic under a battered leather vest, loose fighter's trousers tied with cord, wrapped forearms, split-toed boots, and a faded red sash that once marked his pit rank. He keeps his clothes clean but never new, as if he mistrusts anything that has not already survived something.
Body Language
He stands with shoulders loose and chin slightly down, as if offering his face a target while hiding the speed in his hips. When listening, he folds his hands behind his back and rocks on the balls of his feet. In combat he becomes eerily economical, each motion cut short and precise, with almost no wasted flourish.
