Lady Maerwen Voss
Druid
Lady Maerwen Voss
Species
Hearthkin
Appearance
Lady Maerwen Voss looks like a master sculptor began with moon-warmed clay and then remembered to make her beautiful. Her body is a soft tan earthenware color from crown to toe, matte and slightly cracked in the joints, with the smoothness of a well-kept statue and the living warmth of bread dough left near a hearth. Her face is delicate and almost unnervingly human, with refined cheekbones, a small severe mouth, and lashes that look painted on until they blink. Her hair is made of long, blackened clay tendrils shaped like claws, each strand ending in a sharp hooked point that clicks softly when she turns her head. She wears an elegant deep vermilion gown with a high slit and hammered gold jewelry that are the only true colors on her body, and both seem to glow brighter by contrast. The dress is immaculate in the way a royal banner is immaculate, while her body shows tiny thumbprints and sculpting marks that hint she was made by her own hands. She moves with a stately sway when observed and with startling catlike speed when angered, as if her creator forgot to decide whether she should be a court lady or a stalking beast.
“Her voice is low, warm, and polished, like rainwater over pottery. She speaks with deliberate elegance, but her laughter is unexpectedly rustic and musical.”
