Leila Vaerith
Bard
Leila Vaerith
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Leila moves like a sapling in a summer storm, light on her feet but never fully still, as if listening to music no one else can hear. Her creamy, velvety skin is overlaid with neon swirls and geometric markings in greens, purples, magentas, and electric blue that glow faintly beneath the surface when she is emotional, like starlight trapped under milk glass. Her dark cherry red hair falls in soft, glossy waves down her back, but the ends seem to drift and separate in a breeze that is not there, as though the Chromatic Wail never fully let go of them. The most startling contradiction is her forest-born gentleness paired with tiny silver rings threaded through one ear and one eyebrow, each etched with map-like coordinates to places she has never been. Her warm hazel eyes catch purple sparks when excited, and when she is frightened they briefly look almost black, as if all the echoes inside her are holding their breath.
“Soft, musical, and careful, with a habit of borrowing the cadence of people she has recently heard; when emotional, her words become lyrical and slightly distant, as though she is translating from a private chorus..”

Distinguishing Features
Neon green, purple, magenta, and electric blue storm sigils bloom across her skin in shifting geometric patterns.
Her left ear is pierced with three tiny rings that chime almost silently when she turns her head.
A faint halo of static-colored mist sometimes clings to her hair in low light.
Her voice can change timbre briefly after she sings, as if it is borrowing another throat.
Voice
“Velvet-soft, resonant, and oddly layered, as if one voice is speaking through another a heartbeat later.”
Clothing
She wears layered travel clothes of moss-green linen, midnight-blue wraps, and a short coat stitched with iridescent thread that catches light like wet leaves. Her boots are soft-soled and practical, but the toes are capped with polished wood carved into subtle wave patterns. A scarf of fine silver mesh hangs at her throat, used to dampen harsh sound when the world becomes too loud. The whole outfit looks handmade, mended often, and cherished.
Body Language
Her posture is relaxed until she hears an unfamiliar voice, then she goes still and tilts her head like a listening deer. She gestures with precise, musical hands, often tracing shapes in the air as if conducting invisible instruments. When uneasy, she folds one arm across her ribs and rubs the opposite thumb against her ring finger, as though checking that her own pulse is still hers.
