Truth is found in the silence of the iron cell.
Located beneath the prestigious Grand Lyceum, this hidden dungeon serves as the Divine Kingdom of Newces primary holding facility for academic heretics. The atmosphere is oppressive, with clean white stone walls masking the misery of those forgotten by the state.
The air smells of burnt sage and sterile lye. Low chanting echoes through brass ventilation pipes, and the lighting is provided by flickering white-flame candles that cast long, distorted shadows.

High Inquisitor Vane oversees the facility, using an experimental device called the Soul Siphon to drain magical talent from imprisoned sorcerers. He believes this stolen power can fuel a new age of holy conquest, making him a paranoid and deadly adversary for any who breach the sanctuary.
History
Constructed over two centuries ago by the Arch-Prelate Soter, the Vault was designed to house mages and scholars whose theories threatened the divine doctrine. Today, it is managed by the Order of the Vigilant Eye, a sect of clerical guards dedicated to silencing dissent through spiritual reformation and physical confinement.
