Greenfang Temple
When the rain comes, the old temple wakes and something inside begins to hunt.
An overgrown temple complex has been swallowed by rainforest roots and humid shadow. Its chambers are small, close, and oppressive, with hidden doors, crude traps, and shrine rooms still watched by something that has not forgotten the old rites.
Hot, wet air hangs under the canopy-filtered ruins, carrying the smell of mildew, crushed leaves, and old incense. Faint drumbeats seem to come from deeper chambers, mixed with the buzz of insects and the hiss of dripping water along stone seams.
☠ Threat
A surviving serpent priest, swollen with jungle toxins and old resentment, has turned the deepest shrine into a nest of warding charms and sacrificial offerings. It commands frightened temple guardians, venomous beasts, and a few cunning traps, and it is preparing a rite that will poison the surrounding wilds if left unchecked.
History
This temple was raised generations ago by a rainforest people who venerated the storm and the creatures that ruled the canopy. It served as a shrine, storehouse, and initiation hall for hunters who offered captives and rare poisons to ensure safe passage through flood and fever season. When the cult collapsed, the jungle reclaimed the stone, but its wardens never fully left.
