Brindle's Engraved Collar

This stout hunting collar is cut from dark brown leather that has aged to the color of old bark. A silver buckle, worn smooth at the edges, bears a careful engraving of the name Brindle surrounded by tiny chased hound-paw prints and a sprig of thorny briar. The inside is lined with faded red felt, and when held close it smells faintly of rain, straw, and cold stone. In moonlight, the engraving seems to catch a pale glimmer, as if the collar remembers the warm neck it once rested upon.
