Token of Mercy

A thumb-sized token of hammered white gold shaped like a teardrop coin, its face etched with a crowned wave and a pair of open hands. The reverse is inset with a milky shell that glows softly like moonlight on water. When held near the ear, it whispers with the distant hush of surf, and tiny beads of saltwater gather along its edges even in dry air.
