Bells of the Mother of the Flock
This stout staff is cut from pale frostwood and wrapped in braided wool cord dyed with silver ash. Its head is crowned by a small, serene effigy of Yngya, the Mother of the Flock, depicted as a lambfolk with eight horns curving like frozen branches, a mountain-shaped crown, and six inset opal eyes that catch the light like stars on snow. Tiny brass bells hang beneath the crown and along the haft, chiming with a soft chapel tone whenever the staff is lifted, a prayer is spoken, or snow begins to fall. The wood feels cool but never painfully cold, and the carvings along its length show winding mountain paths, woolly herds, and winter sunbursts.
