Staff of the Mother of the Flock

This sturdy staff is cut from pale ewewood and bound with bands of cloud-silver that never tarnish. Its head is crowned by an ivory effigy of Yngya, the Mother of the Flock, shown as an eight-horned lambfolk with a mountain-shaped crown and six watchful eyes. Tiny bells hang from three silver loops near the crown, each engraved with little snowdrifts and curling sheep wool. When the staff is held in gloved hands, the bells give off a soft, clear chime like wind over a frozen pasture, and a thin rime of frost gathers along the carved runes without making the wood brittle.
