Staff of the Winter Flock
This 5-foot staff is cut from pale ewefall ash and polished until it gleams like old ivory. Its grip is bound in soft white wool threaded with silver wire, and a line of small brass bells hangs beneath the haft so they chime with each step. The head is crowned by a carved effigy of Yngya, Mother of the Flock, shown as a lambfolk figure with eight curling horns, a mountain-shaped crown, and six calm eyes set in a halo of frost-kissed crystal. In cold light, the carving seems almost alive, as if watching over a flock from a high winter ridge.
