Bells of the Mother of the Flock

This staff is carved from pale mountain ash that feels cold to the touch but never numbs the hand. Its length is wrapped in silver wire and small braided loops of wool dyed winter-white and storm-gray. The head is crowned with a finely carved effigy of Yngya, the Mother of the Flock, shown as a lambfolk with eight curling horns, a mountain-shaped crown, and six luminous eyes made from moonstone. Tiny brass bells hang from the crown, the ferrules, and two side-chains near the top, ringing with a clear, chapel-like tone whenever the staff is moved. In the dark, faint frost patterns bloom around the bells and along the carved runes near the grip.
