Staff of the Mother of the Flock
This staff is cut from a single length of pale mountain-ash wood, smooth as polished bone and faintly cool to the touch. Silver wire coils around the haft in looping patterns that resemble drifting snowfall, and small brass bells hang from hidden rings along its length, chiming softly whenever the bearer prays, walks uphill, or speaks Yngya's name. The top is crowned with a finely carved effigy of Yngya, the Mother of the Flock, depicted as a lambfolk with eight curling horns, a crown shaped like a snowbound peak, and six inset eyes of milky quartz that gleam with winter light. Frost never seems to melt from the head of the staff, and its bells ring with a clear, sheltering note even in silence.
